Challenge

After discharge, heavy rust and deformation were found on steel coils. It had to be determined independently and technically whether the damage occurred during carriage or before loading.

Solution

We combined cargo inspection, moisture measurements, hatch-cover checks, review of meteorological data, analysis of port records and photographic reporting to reconstruct the damage timeline.

Result

It was established that the damage had begun before loading. The technical report prepared for the P&I Club was used as a reference in a multi-million-dollar claim process.
